Frequently asked questions

Can the watermark be removed by someone else?

Yes, by anyone with a proper PDF editor — it is drawn onto the page, not locked into it. A watermark marks a document’s status; it is not a security control. Treat it as a label, not a lock.

Will the watermark cover up my text?

Only as much as you let it. The default is faint grey at 25% opacity, which reads clearly without obscuring anything underneath. Lower the opacity further if the pages are dense.

Is my document uploaded to add the watermark?

No, and that matters more than usual here — the documents people watermark are the confidential ones. The whole operation runs in your browser and the file is never transmitted.

Can I use an image or a logo instead of text?

Not yet — this tool stamps text. For a logo, the practical route today is to add it to your source document before exporting the PDF.
