Frequently asked questions
Why does my selfie look backwards?
Most phone cameras show you a mirrored preview, because that is what you are used to seeing in a mirror. Some save the mirrored version and some save the true one. Flipping horizontally here gives you whichever of the two you actually wanted.
What is the difference between flipping and rotating?
Rotating turns the picture; flipping reflects it. A rotated photo of text is still readable if you tilt your head — a flipped one reads backwards. That is the quickest way to tell which one you need.
Does flipping reduce quality?
Mirroring itself is exact — it only reorders pixels. Any loss comes from re-encoding on save, so keep the quality high or choose PNG if it matters.
