Frequently asked questions
Does cropping reduce the quality of my image?
The pixels you keep are copied across unchanged, so cropping itself loses nothing. Saving as JPG or WebP re-encodes them, which is where a little quality can go — raise the quality slider, or choose PNG, if that matters.
How do I crop to an exact size in pixels?
Type the width and height into the boxes below the image. The left and top values set where the crop starts, measured from the top-left corner of the original.
How do I crop a square profile picture?
Choose the 1:1 ratio. The selection snaps to the largest square that fits, and stays square while you drag it — so you can position it without it drifting out of shape.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is decoded and cropped by your own browser. Nothing is sent to a server, which is why it works with the tab offline once the page has loaded.
Can I crop several images at once?
Not here — a crop is a decision about one specific picture, and applying the same rectangle to a batch almost always cuts the wrong thing. Use the resizer if you need the same dimensions applied across many files.
