Make a passport photo

Crop an ordinary photograph to an official passport or visa size. Pick a country preset, line the face up with the on-screen guides, and download either the single photo or a sheet ready to print.

Your file is processed on your device and is never uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Are these sizes officially approved?

The presets are built from the dimensions each authority publishes, and they are a reliable starting point — but requirements change and we cannot guarantee any application will be accepted. Always check the current official specification for the country and document you are applying for before you submit or print.

What makes a photo likely to be rejected?

In practice, the most common reasons are a background that is not plain and light, shadows on the face or behind the head, glasses causing glare or obscuring the eyes, a smile that shows teeth where a neutral expression is required, and the head being the wrong proportion of the frame. This tool handles the framing; the rest depends on how the photo was taken.

Does it remove the background?

Not on its own. Run your photo through Remove Background first and choose a white or light grey backdrop, then bring the result here to crop it to size.

Can I print these at home?

Yes. Generate a print sheet, which arranges several copies at true physical size on a 4×6 inch or A4 page. Print it at 100% scale — with no "fit to page" scaling — on photo paper, and the photos will come out at the correct dimensions.

What resolution should my source photo be?

Aim for at least 600×600 pixels in the cropped area so the print stays sharp at 300 DPI. The tool warns you if the crop would produce a photo below print resolution.
